PG vs flat in Hafeezpet: what you actually pay for
A flat's rent is only part of the cost. Before you compare a flat with a PG, add up everything a flat needs that a PG already includes.
The hidden costs of a flat
When you rent a flat, the listing shows rent and maybe maintenance. What it doesn't show is the deposit, brokerage, furniture, kitchen setup, WiFi installation, electricity, a cook or daily food orders, and someone to clean. Some of these are one-time costs you won't get back when you leave.
When a flat makes sense
- You're staying two years or more and already have flatmates you trust
- You want to cook your own food and run your own kitchen
- You need space for family or a lot of belongings
When a PG makes sense
- You're new to Hyderabad and still learning which area suits you
- You want to move in this week, not after weeks of setup
- You'd rather not manage bills, a cook and a maid
- You're a student or early in your career and want predictable monthly costs
